Do the fins on a three finned board all have to be the same size?
In Beginner - Asked by Jodie Cannon

Answer

There is a surfboard fin set up known as the "2+1". It features a long fin in the middle and two smaller fins on the side. This set up is normally found on longboards. Basically, the larger single fin in the middle provides stability, while the smaller side fins provide thrust and maneuverability. Sometimes, it's lovingly referred to as a "single fin with training wheels"
