I surf the Gulf Coast in smaller waves. I'm thinking about having a very wide board made for some of the tiny waves, with dimensions of 24-28' wide, and 4.5 ft long. What are the pro's/con's of a very wide board?

Hello Will, We love fish boards for the summer time here at SurfScience. 28 inches is very wide, we would probably advise you not to go any wider than 24 inches on a board of 4.5 in length. Pro: Nose width will make it easier to catch and paddle on tiny waves. Con: It will be harder to turn We recently worked on a "Science of Fish" post which you may find helpful Will: Good luck and let us know what you decide to go with - we'd love to hear how it turns out.
