What or is there a simple equation for calculating the volume of a surfboard?

Russell, there is a tool called the AKU Shaper which lets you put in your board's dimensions and comes up with a volume that is pretty accurate. There are some other ways to make rough guesses from length, width at a few points and thickness, but those really depend on the board type and aren't very precise. If you want to know 100%, you can always try displacement. Fill up a kiddie pool with water, mark the level, submerge your board, mark the new level, then calculate the change in height x the area of the water by using some geometry.
