About three years ago Maurice saw the tails of several boards get destroyed in 20 foot plus surf with Ross Clarke-Jones. While repairing one of the boards, Maurice sanded the tail’s swallow shape back to square, intending to insert wooden tips for added strength. He then realized that he could reinforce the tail with rovings. The SWAT tail was born, a hybrid Swallow/Bat Tail.
