In 2008, Walden Surfboards came out with the Walden MPod. Then they added a supersized version of the MPod, called XLPod. It is the flotation of a longboard in the size of a funboard. The MPod is an original magic model combined with a concave deck which forms a "pod" allowing you to lay in the board rather than on top. At last a surfboard with a deck that has a functional design. Walden initially designed the MPod to alleviate some lower back pain as well as pressure on the ribcage however, the deck modifications added to the boards performance by creating a lower center of gravity for greater sensitivity. The Mpod is a high performance ride with a comfort deck.
