My first longboard since the revolution of the short board. Now at the age of 50+ why did I stop. Have a 9' Walden Magic PU construction, love this thing, fast and turns on a dime.

I try to get out there 2 times a week and I have been at it for two years,I am in excellent physical condition. I feel like I should be further along..I still have not mastered the pop up. At all.

I had an 8' epoxy GSI; paddled like a 9'5; great stability. I've just order the PU version and expect it improves speed and manoeuvrability.. let you know later..

Have 8'0 Epoxy, which is very right, turn on dime, float very well for it's size. It's float like my other 9'0 and turn like 7'0.

One of my best hotdogging board. Turns on a dime. A bit floaty but can work well in bigger waves.

very fast on the wave but paddles like a dog due to its banana like rocker, noserides well and turns like a shortboard, its all about speed catching air getting covered up. not very stable due to its high performance nature, i own a 9'6" yellow/blue glass not epoxy

After a 40 year layoff from surfing I bought this board (9'6"). I am now 60 yrs old and I was up and riding this board on first day out at Jax Beach, Fla. I felt 20 years old again and it was like I never stopped surfing.

I have the 9-6. My usual go-to board has been the Donald Tak 9-2 DT-2. The Magic Model is a little slower and more stable, but surprisingly maneuverable for a board this size. It works good on everything from small slop to well overhead surf. A very forgiving board with no bad habits. I only wish I'd found it sooner.

Super easy to paddle, catch waves and balance. Turns predictably in nice arcing carves for a longboard. I was surprised how easy it is to turn for its size. In terms of fun, it is the most fun surf board I have owned because I just catch so many waves. If you love surfing but only catch a few waves per session then get one of these and have fun. I have surfed it in 2ft to 5ft conditions in Hawaii and New Zealand. I have a 10ft XE and are 85kg (180 lb) and 6'1 (185cm).

I have a 9'2 SLX, 2012 model. It fells like a short-board. Super fast in ANY condition. I am 85 kg and I can nose ride or just do floaters with it. I surfed many longboards from 8' to 10'. This board is definitely my favourite.

Walden......Who would own one of these boards. Why don't you guys put on a scientific board rating show down. Experienced surfers over a 3 month period surfing all brands. You've got Kooks rating the same board with experienced surfers, and therefore, asymmetrical conclusions. What ever happened to support your local shaper. The day Walden's foreign pop outs are rated over Dennis Ryder's TRULY magic had crafted boards is the day I stop reading this piece of shit rating system! With ll due respect - your rating system is meaningless.

Been surfing for 50 years and my 9 6 epoxy is a great longboard, lighter and stronger than Poly. It turns well and nose rides great. I also have a Stewart Redline which turns a little better, but doesnt catch waves as easily. It however is way ahead of most longboards

Looking to move down from 9' longboard to shorter board that won't make me work too hard! I like to fly down the line and cut back hard, but don't need to do anything crazy.

Favorite board is Robert August WIR.... easy to paddle and catch waves

This board ( 9ft 6 epoxy magic ) is rated as their strongest but lasted 2 surfs in waist heigh waves. Then only to be told it was my fault. I didn't land on the board & was amazed to find it broken as I slid onto the board to paddle back out. No warrantee through Globle Surf Industries yet Waldren do give a warrantee. My advice is don't buy a Waldren & if you do Don't buy if its through Globle Surf Industries.

I have an 8' epoxy. Great all-round board for beginner to intermediate (I'm not an advanced surfer, so you'll have to wait until I get there ;-) Very buoyant, so paddles well on small and medium days. Planes superbly and is extremely stable at speed. So much so that it sacrifices some manuevarability unless you move the fin forward in the slot and/or get a fin with less sweep. Maybe the harder rail plays a role here... Good nose rider, which is an attribute to the shape and volume in the nose. GSI's production and quality control is pretty good. This is a durable board that, with normal care, will deliver years of service.

Sick board even if it is made in Thailand. My 9' 2" Paddles easy & floats me like a champ at 6'1" 200 lbs. Love the aggressive rocker, hard rails, & unique patented shape on my Magic Model. Flies fast down the line & turns on a seashell. Its long noserides essentially put Pinnochio to shame. I'll always be an Arizona kook, but at least I wont look, feel, or ride like one on my sick Magic Model longboard. Simply put, this board will kill your inner kook

Great board, it is a wave catching machine. It can turn on a dime. When I am on my board people always come up and tell how much they loved their Walden.
