The flexfire is a dog unless its head high+. I have a pod that is great in waist+ mush, but I need a fast and forgiving board for waist to head in steeper beach breaks.

I am 5'3" tall 120 lbs and I have the Flexfire Direct Drive DFE-506Q-03 (5'6" X 17.5") it's pretty quick and nimble on 5 - 10 ft faces. But I found that it best performs on 20+ ft waves. in "Waimea Bay" it's so incredibly fast and the more you lower stance on the board, the more it diggs into the wave like a train on the rails. It does have abit of problems in heavy chop though, I tried it out at "Mavericks" and it was very sketcy; your going down the face, everything's going well and then it up and decides to rip into the chop and throw you off. All in all it's a fantastic board I'm really impressed with it, but a word of caution to less experienced riders, it's a wild stallion this one, you try to break this horse and it might just break you, it's like a "Fighter Jet"; pretty unstable at low speeds (small waves), but it's an absolute Monster at high speeds (big waves) you can't find a better board for big wave riding at such a low price. my advice though, play a round with the different sizes, I had to go 1 size down from my normal preferences to really get the full potential of this board.

Magic board for near perfect waves. The paddling is not good at all.

Great board but takes a bit to get used too. Once you get familiar with it... is a magic board.
