Been surfing 51 years. Nowadays I mainly ride a longboard at home in California but ride the 7' M13 when I travel. Have surfed Tahiti , Maldives, Frigates Pass Fiji and mainland Mexico. It's an easy transition for catching waves. Getting used to the responsiveness takes a few waves. It's fast and lively. Best part is it does not get beat up in the boat or during travel. One of the best all around boards I have ever had
