Manufacturer Description
DT-2 Noserider - This model was built with more focus on nose riding than the DT-1. The key word for this model, however, it is VERSATILITY. Drop in, draw a clean line off the bottom, set-up that high line, and take a walk on the Takayama side. Or, if you prefer, this board becomes a lightning quick turning machine. Its rounded piotail and tri-fin set up is perfect for any turn you throw. This board excels in waves that range from ankle high to well overhead.

I have a 9'6 DT2 Poly board and it's excellent. The board is a little on the heavy side Approx. 19 lbs, but overall I give this board 5 stars. A great performer in large surf (head high plus) and performs well in smaller surf. I ride my board in Santa Cruz on double overhead days and it's a excellent. Highly recommended ~

Great in mush, not great for steep drops or turns on steep waves.

I have a 9-2 surftech. Great longboard for big waves-overhead plus. Very fast and can turn like a much shorter board. I have surfed it regularly for 5 years and still is my go to board for big and small waves.

I am not crazy about the nose riding on smaller waves. It can handle size as others said. I can knee paddle it okay, but really perfer the in the pink.

No rocker at all. Pearl dive when wave become waist high. On windy day, feel like riding cheap plastic boat.

i have a 10'0" donald takayama dt-2 real not epoxy and its the best board ive ever ridden, extremely fast on the wave and paddling, the no rocker is meant for high speed duh... get some classic longboard skill and you wont pearl dive (for those complaining about rocker) this board noserides like an eleven foot log dont go by these ill informed comments before me... this board is pure genius, Donald Takayama one of the greatest longboard shapers of all time.

Great board. Have purchased a 10'2" Surftech model secondhand and very pleased with its performance especially the speed down the line.Excellent on point breaks.

paddling A+, stability A+, speed A+, turning C+, but what do you expect from a classic style longboard, the first 2 comments are made by complete kooks (pearldivers) hahaha mike.s knows what hes talking about with this board.

I have both the 9-2 and 10-2 Surftechs. The 9-2 is quite maneuverable for a longboard, and holds well on big waves. I use the 10-2 for nose-riding on smaller days.

I love my board in good conditions, but as soon as waves get steep, i find it impossible to catch anything. I have a 6'6 catch surf skipper i use for steeper waves, which i love. But I'm interested in what else would work for those choppy, near close out days.
